Welcome into my mind. My name is Allison Mills -founder and creator of Allie Cakes. I want to create a site where I can express myself and share my creations. Here are some things you should know about me before reading on. Baking has always been my passion. At a young age I learned the best way to serve others is through food so I became a pastry chef. It has not been an easy road but I’m learning my craft is a gift. I was always encouraged to follow my dreams, that if it doesn’t exist, create it, so this is for us- beautifully flawed, messes.
Created to Create
There is a poet named Arielle Estoria that once said “We are artists, created to create, and yet our own worst enemy, our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Is our light not our darkness that frightens us most.” After letting that soak in I began to understand that my playing small does not serve anyone.
With grace in her heart and flour in her hair
In the moments when life is most stressful, when nothing seems to be going right, when a bag of flour explodes in your face and you are standing in the midst of a cloud, there is grace to be given. Not just to others but to yourself.
